Why do you think the mucus of CF patients is thicker than the mucus of a healthy person?
Propose one explanation for why/how mucus in the lungs of a person with Cystic Fibrosis is thicker than in a healthy person. Provide support for your answer by using evidence from whatever prior knowledge you have.
Hint: try to get think on a small scale. What is going on in the airways of the lungs that is causing the mucus to be thicker?
I will create a master list of all your ideas and as a class we will provide scientific evidence from out investigations that will confirm or reject these ideas.
